Actress is an alias of experimental producer Darren Cunningham. The English musician combines his favorite music styles (from dub-techno to ambient to classical music) till it evolves in his own minimalistic sound.
Sound collages, songs without a beginning or an end, restless dissonances and abrupt noises are transformed to a completely new sound, in which you can feel the beat and the warmth of an instrument, (for instance a bass or a piano). Ominous and desolate, confusion and alienation drifts through his music. The best way to describe his sound would be a collage, in an unpredictable and associative style which bemuses and enchants.
Skull Katalog is Griffin Pyn (New Orleans 1987). He started experimenting with ‘noisy stuff’, as he calls it, in 2002. In 2006 he started working under the name of Sewn Leather and since then is constantly touring.
His tour this spring with Dracula Lewis was his last tour as Sewn Leather, the same goes for the album: Freak on Hashish (out on Hundebiss Records), was the last album as Sewn Leather. Since then Sewn Leather became Scull Katalog. According to Griffyn Pyn, Sewn Leather evolving in Skull Katalog was a natural process.‘And no, it doesn’t sound more polished. I was half asleep, when I said that’, he answered. For the festival that’s a good thing, cause Skull Katalog fits in perfectly. He is searching for extremes in music. On stage Skull Katalog is full of energy: he creates an overwhelming wall of sound, in which the aggressive beats integrate with his voice.
Al Lover is a producer, living in San Francisco. On his latest album Sacred Drugs there are more layered loops then meets the ear with heavy rhythm section, samples, analogue synths and fuzzy guitars.
According to Al Lover ‘…the focus is to try and take the listener to that place where the universe breaths’.
Aaron Dilloway is an experimental musician. He is an improviser and composer who works with the manipulation of 8-track tape loops in combination with voice, tape delays and various organic and electronic sound sources.
He is a founding member, guitarist and tape manipulator of the industrial noise band Wolf Eyes. They became one of the most important experimental noise bands of the genre, because of their energy and authentic experimental sound.
In 2005 Dilloway left the group to live in Kathmandu (Nepal), where he recorded real-life audio which he uses throughout his recordings.
Aaron Dilloway started his own noise record label, record shop and mail order company: Hanson Records.

A two-hour program of short movies is provided by Chris Oosterom of the Imagine Film Festival. With specific knowledge in the field of experimental and extreme movie genres he will show confrontational, alienating and overwhelming movies at the festival.
Lust for Youth made its debut in 2009 as a solo project of Hannes Norvïde: dark industrial noise influenced by synth bands from the eighties. Nowadays he is working with Loke Rakbak from the Copenhagen punk scene and producer Mahlte Fisher.
In June this year the new album ‘International’ is released. Fans of early New Order will definitely like the sound of the album. Iceage singer and guitarist Elias Bender made a guest appearance on this album.
Danny Devos and Anne Mie van Kerckhoven started noise band Club Moral in the beginning of the 80’s. Danny Devos (DDV) is an influential Belgian artist, known for his performances, body-art and sculptural installations focusing on violence, crime and murder. He is one of the participants in the main exhibition of Haperende Mens in Arti et Amicitiae.
Danny Devos is dj Carl Cryplant at the Haperende Mens Festival and made a special work witch will be shown at the Melkweg gallery.
A new film by Martha Colburn will be shown in the gallery on September 12. She will also vj at the show of Al Lover.
Martha Colburn is best known as a filmmaker, animator and multimedia artist. Colburn worked together with many different artists and musicians, including Deerhoof.
The theme throughout her work are social issues; these are diverse and often political. We find subjects of death, violence, consumerism and sexuality in her animated films. She uses any type of material for her collages, for instance pieces of paper, paints them with such inspiration, improvisation and imagination and finally makes them move in her film. This way she creates an overwhelming and fascinated combination of painting and film.
Dick Verdult is the inventor/creator of Cumbias Experimentales and Cumbias. These are his own variations on a type of Columbian music and dance, which is quite popular on the urban dancefloors.
Dick Verdult released 7 successful albums as Dick el Demasiado and performed in the capitals of Latin-America, Europe and Japan, the international club circuit, but also in stadiums, a prison in Argentina, the Arctic Sea and at the Sonar Festival In Barcelona.
